In observance of holidays during the year, the Front Desk is closed on the following days:

Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day



The Front Desk of the Irvine Police Department is part of the Business Services Division and is supervised by the Business Services Manager. Along with answering non-emergency police telephone line, the non-sworn Front Desk Officers are highly trained law enforcement professionals trained to assist the public with general public safety needs.

The duties of the Front Desk Officer include, but are not limited to:

  • Police report writing*
    • Lost property
    • Stolen property
    • Counter traffic collision reports
    • Identity theft
  • Fingerprint services
    • Livescan
    • Ink
  • Citation sign-offs
  • Clearance letters
  • Police report copies
  • Vehicle storage/impound hearing requests
