Chemicals & Hazardous Materials

Some chemical substances are hazarous to health or the environment if released or misused. These chemicals are part of daily activities and may be present in our communities at manufacturing or other industrial facilities, service stations, hospitals, waste sites, agricultural facilities, and many others. If these materials are released in harmful amounts during production, storage, transportation, use or disposal, your community may be at risk.

Chemical emergencies can be unintentional, as in the case of an industrial accident, or intentional acts of malice.
