Outstanding Supporter of Prevention Awards
On Saturday, May 5, 2012, School Resource Officers Frei, Holloway, Jahid, Robinson, Russell, and Wiebe were presented with Outstanding Supporter of Prevention Awards by the Irvine Prevention Coalition during a ceremony held at City Hall.
The Irvine Prevention Coalition, a collaborative comprised of community leaders and agency partners hosts the annually event to honor individuals in Irvine who strive to make a difference in the lives of children and families.
The School Resource Officer team received the award for their excellence in providing service to students, parents and school personnel in Irvine. While School Resource Officers fill the tradition role of law enforcement, providing an immediate source of safety and security on the campuses they patrol, they also fill many less traditional roles serving as partners in prevention and as a resource to the entire school community.
Also receiving awards was Detective Tapia for his work to apprehend a woman selling Marijuana to high school students in Irvine, and Special Assistant to the Chief, Dan Jung for his contributions to a recently adopted City Ordinance addressing Social Hosting.
Lieutenant Condon attended the ceremony to congratulate the recipients.
