The academy is taught by a mix of command personal, supervisors, veteran police officers and professional civilian support staff.  The students in the class have an opportunity to ask questions and have a “hands on” opportunity in a controlled classroom environment. Students get a behind the scenes look into the Irvine Police Department.  On hand to congratulate the graduating class was Chief Maggard, Deputy Chief Hamel, Sergeant Egan and Public Safety Assistant Brannon.
