Irvine, CA – The Irvine Police Department (IPD) is seeking the public's help locating a suspect wanted for lewd and lascivious act on a child. There is a $1 million warrant for the arrest of Robert Tana, 42, of Garden Grove.

On March 23, 2016, Tana was staying overnight in an Irvine home, where he was acquainted with one of the residents. At approximately 4:00 a.m., IPD detectives believe he entered the bedroom of a minor teen girl while she was sleeping and proceeded to assault her with the intent to commit a sexual act.  She was able to fight him off.

The suspect left the room and the crime was reported to IPD. The case was investigated and Tana was ultimately identified as the suspect. The case was submitted to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office for criminal charges, and a warrant was issued for Tana’s arrest.

The suspect’s whereabouts are unknown and IPD is seeking the public’s help locating him.
