$500,000 Available in Irvine Educational Partnership Grants

City continues annual funding to boost programs and activities at public schools

Committed to enhancing academic and health programming for Irvine students, the Irvine City Council has agreed to allocate up to $500,000 for the City's Educational Partnership Fund – a grant program for schools serving Irvine students, grades K-12.

Public school districts or lawfully formed California non-profit corporations working in partnership with the Irvine Unified School District or Tustin Unified School District are eligible to apply.  Application programs/activities must be designed to directly enhance health services, such as on-site nursing, nutrition or guidance programs and be deliverable at a public school(s) located within the boundaries of the City of Irvine.

Applicants are encouraged to attend a grant workshop at the Irvine Civic Center located at 1 Civic Center Plaza, on Monday, September 20 at 9 a.m.  Immediately following the workshop, applications will be available in the Community Services Department on the second floor of the Civic Center or online at cityofirvine.org or by clicking here.  Applications must be mailed or hand-delivered to:

Applications that are faxed or e-mailed will not be accepted.  The application deadline is 4 p.m. on Thursday, October 28.

Funds up to $100,000 can be allocated to a single grant request.  All awards and funding allocations are contingent upon City Council approval.  Funds are expected to be granted in February 2011.
