Athletic Field Reservations
The Community Services Department is proud to operate and manage some of the most beautiful sports facilities in Southern California. These facilities are operated under the supervision of Irvine's Athletic Services. The staff coordinates an allocation process and reservations of all athletic fields in the City of Irvine, both City owned sports fields and fields on school sites of the Irvine and Tustin Unified School Districts . These fields are used by many Irvine youth sports organizations, adult leagues sponsored by the City of Irvine and requests for private reservations.

The City receives many requests throughout the year to reserve sports fields. Most fields are reserved for City programs, local youth sports programs (Little League, AYSO Soccer, etc) and requests for other activities. We have fields available for reservation on a limited basis (lighted and unlighted) throughout Irvine with advanced reservation by calling 949-724-6830 or 949-724-6661. While most athletic fields are reserved nightly for youth and adult league play, a limited number of athletic fields are available during the week between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. and on some weekend dates. These fields can be reserved for a fee, or they can be used for walk-on groups (non lighted fields only) if field is not reserved for another activity or during scheduled field maintenance work.
Open Reservation Periods
Once field allocations are completed for Category I, II, and III organizations, fields will be reserved to the public as available. Fields are typically available after the first week of September through early June when fields close for annual renovations. Request for reservations of sport fields are taken beginning at 8 a.m. on July 1st each year. Requests can be made through the Athletics office by emailing FieldReservations@cityofirvine.org
. These requests will be compiled as received, into an Annual Interest List. Reservations will be processed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Priority will be given to those applicants appearing first on the Annual Interest List for fields available on the day and hour of choice. The City reserves the right to determine which days, times, fields, and field sizes will be reserved, based on other scheduled use, wear, and maintenance issues.
Fees vary by type of field and the intended use and hours (see policy links below). All use of lighted sports fields, organized games and tournaments for youth and adult events must have an approved reservation form.

Walk-on Field Use
Pick-up games and walk-on games (with no referees, uniforms, etc.) can use non lighted fields as available during daylight hours on a first come first served basis; however, if a group with an approved reservation arrives, the walk-on group must immediately vacate the field and surrounding area (including behind the goal posts and backstop). Pick-up games and walk-on games may not begin prior to 8 a.m. Some fields are not available for walk-on use. Signs are posted on these fields.
