Swimming Pools

The City of Irvine operates and maintains two public swimming pool facilities. William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center is located at 4601 Walnut, in Heritage Park, and Northwood High School Aquatics Center is located at 4515 Portola Parkway, at Northwood High School.

Woollett Aquatics Center sports two side-by-side 50-meter pools and a 25-yard teaching pool. It is also equiped with family changing rooms, classroom, concession area, one-meter diving boards and three-meter diving boards, as well as men's and women's locker rooms. Northwood Aquatics Center includes a 50-meter pool with a one-meter diving board, and men's and women's locker rooms.

Lifeguards are on duty at all times, and they strictly enforce pool rules. Children under the age of six must be accompanied by an adult one-on-one at all times.
