Pool Safety Class

5/5/2009

In California, drowning is a leading cause of injury-related deaths among children under the age of five, with more than half of all child drowning accidents occurring in home swimming pools.  As summer approaches, the City of Irvine is teaming up with the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) to offer a free Pool Safety class on Wednesday, May 20 from 7-8 p.m. at the OCFA Headquarters Facility in Irvine.

This one-hour class will cover the "ABCs" of water safety and provide pool safety tips for kids and adults. OCFA Headquarters is located at 1 Fire Authority Road in Irvine. For more information, or to register, call 714-573-6200 or visit www.ocfa.org for additional pool safety and drowning prevention tips.
