Alarm User Awareness Class

7/5/2010

Used properly, home and business alarm systems are one of the most effective ways to deter burglaries and break-ins. To enhance proper usage, and conserve vital police resources, the City of Irvine Police Department, in partnership with an alarm industry representative, is hosting a Security Alarm User Awareness Class on Tuesday, July 20 from 9 -10 a.m. at the Irvine Civic Center.

This one-hour class provides residents and business owners with information on how alarm systems work, what to expect from an alarm company, fees and penalties associated with false alarms, as well as tips to help eliminate false alarms.  Class participants will also receive a $50 to $100 credit given by the City toward future false alarm fees. Class registration is $15 per person. For more information or to make a reservation, contact Cristine Gaiennie at (949) 724-7066 or e-mail cgaiennie@cityofirvine.org.
