| News Details | Irvine Police Department Welcomes Officers Koo and Larum to the Family!7/11/2011 On Monday July 11, 2011 Chief Maggard swore in Irvine Police Department’s newest officers, William Koo and Haldor Larum in a ceremony held in the Emergency Operations Center. Attending were members of the officers’ families as well as many members of their new Irvine Police Department family. Officer Koo joins Irvine after serving for nine years as a Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff where he worked in custody as well as courts. Prior to his work as a Deputy Sheriff, Officer Koo worked for the Santa Ana Police Department in a civilian capacity. He graduated from the University of California, Irvine in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Officer Larum is a recent graduate of the Fullerton Police Academy where he attended the extended format allowing him to continue working full time during his training as an automotive technician. He holds an Associate’s degree in Occupational Studies from the Universal Technical Institute of Phoenix. Both officers will be in orientation for the next two weeks and should be starting the Field Training Program at the end of the month. |
