Officer Predney Sworn in as California DARE Officers Association President

On Wednesday, August 17, 2011, DARE Officer Michael Predney was sworn in as the President of the California DARE Officers Association (CDOA) during a luncheon at their annual training conference in Pleasanton.  Approximately forty officers, teachers and dignitaries were in attendance including Deputy Chief Noble and DARE Officer D’Alena.

 

Officer Predney will serve for one year as President and an additional year as the Past President.  His responsibilities will include chairing CDOA Board of Directors and Business meetings, organizing the annual DARE Training Conference and representing the CDOA at the annual International DARE Training Conference. Prior to this appointment, Officer Predney served as a member of the CDOA for six years, served as their Sergeant at Arms for two years, and was the Vice President in 2010.

 

Officer Predney began his career with the Irvine Police Department in 2003, and has been a DARE officer for the past four years.  He is best known by high school students in Irvine for his role as the “Grim Reaper” during the Every 15 Minutes programs presented throughout the city. He has also served as a Volleyball coach for the past 11 years at a local high school and is an usher in his church.
