2011 Annual Explorer Banquet

On Tuesday, September 6, 2011, the explorers held their Annual Explorer Banquet in the Irvine Police Department’s Emergency Operations Center. 

 

The event was attended by the families of the Explorers as well as Lieutenant Boggs, Sergeant Wyatt, Officer Frei, Officer Wiebe, and Civilian Traffic Investigator Oldoerp.   Civilian Traffic Investigator Linda Villelli prepared the dinner and Sage Klemek’s family provided desert from their family business, the Black Market Bakery.

 

This year, the Explorers have volunteered for over eighty events including many that were in support of other City’s Explorer Posts.  Eleven explorers were recognized for having contributed over one hundred hours of community service to the program including several who contributed over 300 hours and one, Andrew Raunau who contributed 673 hours of service to the community.  This is the second year Andrew has led the way in service hours.

 

Chief Maggard conducted the ceremony for the following seven Explorers who received promotions in rank:

 

Sage Klemek - Captain

Caity Duke - Lieutenant

Joseph Lee - Lieutenant

Andrew Raunau - Sergeant

Laura Sacks - Sergeant

Larissa Clarke - Corporal

David Tag - Corporal
