City of Irvine Green Ribbon Environmental Committee Seeks Applicants

The City of Irvine is accepting applications to fill a vacant member-at-large position on the Green Ribbon Environmental Committee. The Green Ribbon Environmental Committee is a volunteer advisory body to the City Council and provides advice on sustainability policies related to energy, recycling and waste management, mobility, open space and water issues.

At-large members serve a two-year term and appointments are approved by the City Council. Upon approval, the selected applicant will serve out the remaining term of the vacant at-large Committee position through February 2015.

The Committee is comprised of two City Council members appointed by the City Council, one Planning Commissioner appointed by the Planning Commission, two members appointed at-large by the City Council, and five members appointed by each City Council member.

Committee meetings are held on the second Thursday in February, May, August and November at 4:30 p.m. at University Park Community Center, 1 Beech Tree Lane, Irvine.

Applications are now available at the Irvine Civic Center, 1 Civic Center Plaza, second floor Community Services Department or online. Completed applications must be submitted by 4 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2014 to:
