3/16/2007

The City of Irvine announces the re-opening of the Racquet Club Park playground following a rehabilitation project to modernize the play equipment and improve access for persons with disabilities. The playground re-opens Wednesday, March 21 with an official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony from 3-4 p.m. The ceremony is open to the public and there will be free ice cream for the first 100 participants, along with children's games led by the City's Mobile Recreation staff.

The modernized playground features a padded surface, made from recycled tires, for safer play. The rehabilitation project was partially funded through a grant from the State of California and the California Integrated Waste Management Board. For more information, call 949-724-6684.
