Art Lecture: The Mandala in Indian Art 

Professor Nalini Rao is the featured lecturer at the Irvine Fine Arts Center’s monthly Art Forum on Thursday, May 10 at 6:30 p.m. The lecture will provide a glimpse into the form and meaning of Mandala in Hindu and Buddhist painting and architecture in the art of India. 

Nalini Rao is a Professor of World Art at Soka University. She holds a Ph.D. degree in Art History from UCLA and a Ph.D. in Ancient History and Archaelogy from the University of Mysore, Mysore, India. She is the author of two books and has lectured at leading museums and universities.

One of the Irvine Fine Center’s free monthly events, the Art Forum provides an opportunity to experience art sharing, technique demonstrations, and art lectures. Admission and parking is free.
