Got Mud? Youth Fitness Challenge

8/1/2008

The adventure continues in 2008 for kids ages 6-13 with the City of Irvine Community Services Department’s "Got Mud? Youth Fitness Challenge." Participants are invited to test their limits on Saturday, August 23 at University Community Park as they compete in a ¾ mile course consisting of three large bounce house-style obstacles, a slalom and tires course, varied sports station, a military style "crawl under,"  and a trip down the waterslide and through the famous Adventure Playground mucky mud pit.

Members of the City’s adopted 2/11 Marine Battalion will be on hand to encourage and lend support to contestants as they move through the course, along with the Orange County Fire Authority who will be hosing down racers at the finish line.

Event heats will be set up according to age brackets. The first heat will blast out of the starting gate at 9 a.m. with subsequent heats leaving every 3 to 5 minutes until all racers have completed the course.  Pre-registration is highly recommended; however walk-in registration will be available on event day if spots are still available.
