Irvine Children, Youth and Families Advisory Committee Seeks Applications

The City of Irvine is currently accepting applications to fill four community representative (two youth and two adult) vacancies on the Irvine Children, Youth and Families Advisory Committee. Comprised of 15 members, the Committee performs in an advisory capacity to the Community Services Commission by providing ongoing review and evaluation of the City of Irvine’s Strategic Plan for Children, Youth and Families.

The priority areas of focus contained in the Strategic Plan for Children, Youth, and Families include:
·        Pre-Kindergarten Child Care and School Readiness
·        Health and Fitness
·        Underage Drinking
·        Support to Families in Need
·        Children’s Mental Health
·        Volunteerism and Community Service
Applicants must live or work in the City of Irvine and be willing to commit to a two-year term of active participation. Committee meetings are held quarterly on the last Wednesday of the month from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the Irvine Civic Center. 

Completed applications must be received by the Community Services Department by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2008. Mail completed applications to City of Irvine, Community Services Department – Health and Human Services, P.O. Box 19575, Irvine, CA, 92623.
