| Wall of Recognition | | | John Withers | | | Distinguished Citizen | | | John Withers has been an Irvine Resident for 29 years and has served on the Board of Directors of Irvine Ranch Water District for 24 years. He is, without question, one of the pillars of our community. He is best known for his leadership in developing and preserving the San Joaquin Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary, establishing areas of biological significance, and annexing the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station into the City of Irvine. Mr. Withers is admired and is a friend of educational, government, and political leaders from both sides of the aisle. |
