The City of Irvine appreciates the service of the following honoree:
Wall of Recognition | | Chief David L. Maggard, Jr. | | Civic Leader | | Chief David Maggard who served as Chief of Police for the City of Irvine from 2003 to 2015. His leadership and vision guided the City to eight consecutive years of recognition as Americas Safest City for part 1 crimes. He served as president of the California Police Chiefs Association, was appointed by Governor Brown to the Board of State and Community Corrections, served on the Advisory Council of the Irvine Public Schools Foundation and the Advisory Board of California State University, Long Beach Forensic Sciences Certification Program. He received the Ambassador of Peace Award from the Violence Prevention Coalition of Orange County, and received the Department of Defense Freedom Award on behalf of the Irvine Police Department. The award is the highest honor bestowed on an employer by the Department of Defense. |
