TRIPS Program

Thank you for your interest in the City of Irvine. Our website can now be found here.
Be sure to save cityofirvine.org to your favorites.

The City of Irvine sponsors a transportation program designed specifically for seniors and persons with disabilities.  The TRIPS bus service is available to Irvine residents 18 and older who are unable to drive due to a permanent physical and/or cognitive disability.  When you use TRIPS, you will be picked up at your door and dropped off at your destination.  Use TRIPS to travel to medical appointments, work, school and social activities.  TRIPS also provides shuttle service to Lakeview Senior Center and various Irvine grocery stores.

Eligibility
Any Irvine resident 18 years and older who has a permanent physical and/or cognitive disability is eligible to use TRIPS.  However, you must be registered in order to use the service.  Registration and eligibility determination may take up to two weeks.  Once you are registered, enjoy low-cost transportation in buses that can accommodate wheelchairs and other mobility devices.

Cost
There is an annual registration fee and a small per trip fee for the TRIPS program.  You pay $25 the first year, then just $20 each year after.  Once registered, each trip within Irvine only costs $1.90.  A Senior Center Quarterly Pass is also available.  Trips outside Irvine cost more and may not always be available; contact the TRIPS office for more details.

Hours of Operation
TRIPS operates Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Call 949-724-7433 between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. to make your reservation.  Rides are on a first-come, first-served basis and must be scheduled in advance.  Evening, weekend and holiday service is contingent on demand.
